Foundation Stone laid for APJ Abdul Kalam’s Memorial at Rameswaram

Kalam-RameswaramA proud nation today observed the first death anniversary of former President and ‘Missile Man’ of India’ Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. To mark the occasion, Union Minister for Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information & Broadcasting M. Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister for Defence Manohar Parrikar laid the Foundation Stone of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam National Memorial at Rameswaram.

The two ministers, unveiled a six-feet statue of Dr. Kalam along with laying the foundation stone of a memorial for Dr. Kalam. India lost Dr. Kalam last year on 27th July after he suffered a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at IIM-Shillong in Meghalaya.

“Dr. Kalam will live forever in our minds and hearts. His thoughts continue to be with us all the time,” and it is very difficult to believe that “Dr. Kalam passed away and that this great man left all of us for his heavenly abode”, said by Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu while inaugurating the bronze statue.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also paid his respect to India’s ‘Missile Man’ who has been celebrated as one of the ‘greatest gurus’ and a great asset for India in numerous fields.
