Goods worth lakhs gutted in Shimla fire

Shimla, Jan 8: Goods worth lakhs were gutted when a fire engulfed at least six shops in a market here early Friday, an official said. However, no loss of life was reported.

A fire department official said a call about the fire in the Lower Bazaar was received at 3 a.m. Fire engines took more than four hours to control the flames. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official added. Police later cordoned off nearby shops. (IANS)
