The Congress, JD(U) and RJD leaders have sought a ban on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program, saying it could impact the voters during Bihar Polls. They have also sought an appointment from the CEC to discuss the matter. The meeting will take place at 2:30 PM.
However, sources said that the Election Commission may turn down the request, as the program is related to the Prime Minister of the country and and he addresses the nation on various national issues.
Similar requests from the Opposition parties, were rejected during the Delhi and Maharashtra Assembly polls. However, the EC may act if any part of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ speeches would appear to be lobbying for Bihar polls.
