Mecca Stampede: Indian Death Toll rises to 18, confirms MEA

The death toll of Indian Haj pilgrims in the stampede at Mina near Mecca, has gone up to 18, confirmed Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs Vikas Swarup. Out of 18 deceased, 9 are from Gujarat, 3 from Tamil Nadu, 2 from Jharkhand and 1 each from Maharashtra, Telengana and Kerala. One person is not identified yet. 13 Indians were injured in the stampede. In total, 717 people died and over 800 injured in the tragedy.
