India celebrates 2nd International Day of Yoga

Modi @ IDYPrime Minister Narendra Modi today leads the nation in 2nd International Day of Yoga celebrations while joining a yoga demonstration event with around 30,000 participants at the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh.

The Prime Minister highlighted the fact that within one year, International Yoga Day has been accepted across the world and has emerged as one of the most popular UN days.

Modi has urged people to make Yoga a part of their life as it is linked to good health. Stressing on Yoga as a means of preventive healthcare, he coined the term ‘zero budget Health assurance’ adding that Yoga is for both non-believers and believers.

All in all, PM Modi highlighted the benefits of Yoga, an ancient heritage that India has shared with world for the benefit of one and all.

The Prime Minister also announced two awards for distinguished works in the field of Yoga at national and international levels.

Punjab and Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar and other dignitaries also took part in the mega event.

The second International Day of Yoga is being celebrated across the globe today. The theme for this year is ‘Connect the Youth’.
