Population Policy: China decides to end One-Child Policy

China has decided to end one-child policy, a family planning policy that was introduced in 1978. The country will allow all couples to have two kids. In 2007, 36% of China’s population was subject to a strict one-child restriction. In order to control population growth the country had adopted one-child policy. The policy was enacted/implemented on September 18, 1980.
