Uphaar Fire Tragedy: Ansals fined Rs 60 Cr, escape Jail Term

In a huge relief to industrialists Sushil Ansal and Gopal Ansal, the Supreme Court has allowed them to escape the jail term, but imposed a penalty of Rs 30 crore each on them. The fine will be deposited before the Delhi Government within 3 months. At least 59 people had died in the 1997 Uphaar Fire tragedy in South Delhi.
