Chennai Horror: 22 men raped 12-year-old girl for 7 months, 17 held

ONI Bureau: In a horrific incident, as many as 22 men have allegedly sexually harassed a 12-year-old girl for over a period of seven months in Purasawalkam, Chennai. However, police has arrested 17 men involved in the crime so far.

As per report, the men including the building’s security guards, elevator operators, maintenance staff  and plumbers of the apartment complex drugged the child with injections, spiked soft drinks and a powder and made her sniff before sexually assaulting the minor.

The predators had taken videos, filmed themselves raping the child and were blackmailing her for sexual favours. The accused are in the age group of 23-66.

The matter came to light when the hearing impaired child told her sister that she had a stomach ache.

When the victim’s parents took her to Medical, the doctors found out that several men had raped her.

The accused have been charged under Indian Penal Code provisions and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A court here remanded them in judicial custody till July 31.
