Justice Ranjan Gogoi sworn in as Chief Justice of India

ONI Bureau:  Justice Ranjan Gogoi on Wednesday sworn-in as the 46th Chief Justice of India. He was administered the oath by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan were present at the Rashtrapati Bhawan for the ceremony.

As per sources, Justice Gogoi succeeds Justice Dipak Misra. Justice Gogoi will have a little tenure of over 13 months as Chief Justice of  Supreme Court and would retire on November 17, 2019.
