PM Modi receives UN Champions of the Earth Award for 2018

ONI Bureau:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday received the United Nations’ highest environmental honour ‘Champions of the Earth’ award for 2018 by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at a special ceremony in the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in New Delhi.

PM Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron were jointly honoured for their contribution in championing the International Solar Alliance and cooperation on environmental action.

The award was announced on the sidelines of 73rd United Nation General Assembly in New York on September 26.
