‘Scholarly Attack’ designed at dividing India

ONI Bureau: Yes, it’s not my words. It’s the sentiments echoed by millions in India after a so-called Intellectual Ashok Swain, a Professor at the Department of Earth Sciences, CSD, at Uppsala University in Sweden, has launched a scathing attack on Indian society, perhaps at the behest of Pakistan’s ISI and other radical forces, who want to see India divided again.

His article on DailyO, titled “The tipping point for Indian Muslims is not too far away”, is a scathing attack on Hindutva, which is a way of life, as defined by the Supreme Court. The writer tried his best to fuel hatred between the communities and show the World that India is becoming intolerant towards Muslims.

Saying “Muslims have shown a 50 per cent higher decline in growth rate than Hindus in the last decade,” Ashok Swain tried to prove a point that Muslims have been marginalised, oppressed, depressed and facing problems to survive or revive!!!

In his piece, he made a highly ridiculous statement, “The inequality between Hindu majority and Muslim minority continues to widen further”. Does he mean that Muslims are being subjected to bias, discrimination and injustice in India? Will Indian Muslims accept his view? The answer would be a big NO!

The malicious article goes on to prove how Muslims are subjected to discrimination in job market, how they are economically disadvantaged among other religious groups, dissatisfied and completely negative about their current life situation.

His last paragraph is nothing but an “intellectual” appeal to Indian Muslims to wage a revolt against the Nation and Hindus and join radical forces.

“The growing intolerance of the state and exclusion from national political power pot increasingly push Indian Muslims to the edge as they continue to lag behind in the economic sphere. Unless corrective measures are taken expeditiously to provide an inclusive political space, the tipping point for Indian Muslims is not too far away. If Muslims in India get rid of their moderation and fall prey to radicalism, the credit for it will go to no one else but the Hindutva forces.”

While giving due credit to Harbir Singh, who inspired me to choose this title, I must say all Indians must stand up and condemn this “Intellectual” who is not only connected to India’s Ultra Left, but reportedly gets funding from dubious agencies connected with Pakistan’s ISI, which is subject to investigation.
