2 more Servitors arrested for abusing Puri Collector during Niladri Bije

Two more servitors were arrested by Odisha Police on Wednesday for their involvement in the brawl with District Collector during the Niladri Bije ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at Puri on July 17.

The sevayats were identified as Surya Narayan Pujapanda and Brundaban Pujapanda. The District Collector Arvind Agrawal has lodged two FIRs with SP Sarthak Sarangi against 6 servitors. Some of the servitors had misbehaved with him and abused him, and even threatened to kill him when he protested the climbing of women on chariot.

The pahandi of Sudarsana was disrupted for an hour during the Niladri Bije of the deities. The media persons were also attacked by the servitors when they tried to find the reasons behind the delay in Pahandi.
