3 die in Puri Rath Yatra Mishap, 3 drowned in Paradeep

While two women were killed and 20 others injured in a stampede on Puri Grand Road during the Rath Yatra, another youth died of drowning at the Puri Sea Beach. At least three injured have been sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

The stampede occurred near Marichkot Lane and Hindi Vidyapeeth. Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja was being pulled at that time.

Similarly, three people from Bihar, died of drowning at the sea beach in Paradeep. CM Naveen Patnaik had expressed his grief and condolences over the deaths and announced free treatment for all injured.

Odisha PCC President Prasad Harichandan has put the blame on the state government, saying the government and administration did not do enough to prevent such incidents.
