Annual Bird Census begins in 5 Zones of Chilika Lagoon

ONI Bureau:  The annual bird count in five zones of Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon Chilika has began on Thursday.

As many as 20 teams comprising of 100 Forest and Wildlife officials engaged in enumeration of the birds in the entire lake, spread over about 1100-sq km.

The counting which is currently underway in Satapada, Tangi, Rambha, Satapada, Balugaon and Parikuda areas.
