Anti-dairy farm policies: Milk farmers pour out milk on road

Angered by the anti-agriculture and anti-dairy farm policies of the state government, members of ‘Odisha Dugdha Utpadaka Sangram Samiti’ Wednesday poured litres of milk on road.

The members staged the protest after Omfed refused to purchase milk from the farmers. According to the members, if Omfed does not take milk from self help groups, how the SHGs will be able to repay the loan. In that case they will be forced to commit suicide.

President of the farmers and advisor of the body said, if government includes milk in the menu for the mid-day meal scheme then it will be helpful for both milk producers and children.
