BJD Mahila Morcha to gherao Raj Bhavan over LPG Price Hike

Insight Bureau: The Biju Mahila Janata Dal has decided to gherao the Raj Bhavan and hold demonstration and dharna tomorrow, seeking the withdrawal of LPG price hike. The agitation will be held in phases.

The Women’s wing of the BJD will hold demonstrations outside all three RDC offices on Monday, 6th November. If the centre fails to withdraw the hike by then, the Biju Mahila Janata Dal will hit the streets at all 314 Block offices in the state.

At a press meet, the women leaders of the BJD alleged that the Centre has hiked the LPG prices 19 times since July 2016, giving a tough time to the households across the country.

In a fourth hike since August 2017, the oil companies have yesterday increased the LPG prices by Rs 4.50 on subsidised cylinders and Rs 93 on non-subsidised cylinders.
