BJD rejects Gadkari’s proposal to resolve Mahanadi issue through dialogue

ONI Bureau: The ruling BJD in Odisha on Thursday rejected the proposal of Road Transport & Highways and Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari’s suggestion to settle the Mahanadi river water dispute with Chhattisgarh through mutual discussion and dialogue.

BJD spokesperson Prashant Nanda accused the Union Minister of acting as an agent of the Chhatisgarh government, said that in view of Odisha’s interest, the State Government cannot go to the negotiation table unless Chhattisgarh stops construction work.
