Blast at Muniguda Railway Track, One Injured

The suspected Maoists triggered a blast near Munikhol near Muniguda Railway track at around 1:40 AM today. A Railway Gangman was injured in the blast. The second blast took place at around 4 AM during the restoration work.

Train services have been badly affected on the route. Efforts are being made to restore normalcy on a priority basis. The police team along with sniffer dogs have rushed to the spot to conduct further investigation.

The Maoists, who oppose the Republic Day celebrations, may have carried out the blasts, it is believed. A high alert has been issues on the railway route in entire Rayagada and Koraput districts following the blasts.
