Block Grant Teachers to Gherao Block Education Offices in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Sep 15: The Odisha Vidyalaya Sikshak Mahasangh, block grant teachers’ association, decided to gherao the Block Education Offices across the state from September 21. The teachers stir entered 36th day on Tuesday, they have been demanding for regularization of their services and implementation of Grant-in-Aid.
The association has also decided to hold protest rallies across the state from September 21. The members of the association told media that, they would meet the parents of school students and appeal to support their stir during three-day campaign from September 21. They warned that they would gherao Secretariat here on September 30 if their demands are not met.
The block grant teachers had protested at Lower PMG square and at MLA quarters on August 20. According to reports, around 6 lakh students of 4,000 schools in Odisha were affected due to strike called by the teachers demanding implementation of gran-in-aid and regularization of their services.
