CM inaugurates 100 new Godowns, distributes Mobile Phones to Women Farmers

Mobile DistributionOdisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated 100 new godowns in different parts of the state via video conference.

The godowns, each having capacity of 41,425 MT, were constructed by the Cooperation Department to conserve seeds, harvest paddy and keep fertilizers for the benefit of farmers across the state.

The Chief Minister also distributed mobile phones to 10 women farmers while launching a programme to give out free mobile phones to Women Kisan Credit Card holders. Under this programme, as many as 41,000 free mobile phones will be distributed across the state.

Odisha has received the national award for the fourth time for increasing in agriculture production and the government has been taking a number of steps for the welfare of the farmers, said the Chief Minister. Mobile phones would be useful for the women farmers of the state to get agriculture-based information among other things.

Finance Minister Pradeep Amat, Cooperation and Excise Minister Dr Damodar Rout, Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy, many MLAs and government officials were present on the occasion.
