CM to launch Ration Card Distribution Programme on Oct 2

CM Naveen Patnaik distributes Digitized Ration CardsBhubaneswar, Sep 17: The Odisha government decided to launch ration card distribution programme from October 2 as the National Food Security Act will be implemented in the state from November 1. According to official sources, the Chief Minister will launch the ration card distribution programme from October 2.

A high-level meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday here. The launching of ration card distribution would be started in the capital city by Naveen Patnaik while 15 other minister would launch the programme in 14 different districts in the first phase from October 3 to October 8.

The programme will be launched in 14 districts – Angul, Balangir, Bargarh, Boudh, Deogarh, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Jharsuguda, Malkangiri, Nuapada,  Subarnapur and Sambalpur. The remaining 16 districts would be covered in the second phase from October 16 till October 31.
