Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi sets up 5-member Committee to visit Kandhamal

Congress President Sonia Gandhi has set up a five member committee to visit the area of Kandhamal district and find the facts of the shocking death of five innocent villagers and an infant, who were killed during the crossfire between Maoists and the security forces near Gumudumaha village of Kurtamgarh panchayat under Baliguda police limits on July 8.

Former Union Minister V Kishore Chandra Deo, Jairam Ramesh, K H Muniyappa, Vincent Pala and Arun Oraon are the team members of the committee, said by Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already set up a Special Investigation Team to probe the incident.

On the other side, BJP has already set up three-member committee to probe the Kandhamal incident and submit the report to the Party President Amit Shah.
