Dana Majhi did not inform Hospital while taking away Wife’s Body!

In a sensational revelation, published by Navbharat Times, Dana Majhi of Odisha’s Kalahandi, has confessed that he left the District Hospital in Bhawanipatna on his own on that fateful night without informing anyone.

“When I came to know at around 2 AM that my wife was dead, my brain stopped thinking. I did not know what to do. There was no attendant at the bed. I just carried my wife’s body and left the Hospital”, he said.

He also said that Doctors had attended his wife thrice and the last time at 10 PM. When asked why he did not seek a vehicle, he admitted that he was not aware of any such provisions and did not ask the Hospital authorities or anyone else for help. “I did not even inform any of my relatives, as no body was present there”, he added.

Earlier, the Kalahandi ADM had said the same thing, but nobody trusted him. CM Naveen Patnaik expressed regret and ordered a probe into the incident, as the issue triggered a national outrage, thanks to national and international media. The NHRC also took suo motto cognizance of the matter and issued notices to the Government on this issue. The matter has already taken a political turn with Congress, BJP and AAP joining the blame game.
