Defamation Case: Former DGP Sanjeev Marik appears in Court

Sanjeev-MarikBhubaneswar, Mar 11: Former Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjeev Marik today appeared before the SDJM court here over the defamation case filed by him against former Inspector General and Ex-MP Anadi Sahu for tarnishing his image by linking him with gangster D-brothers.

Marik recorded his statement in the case. He told the court that Sahu tarnished his image by leveling baseless allegations against him and linking him with arrested gangster brothers. After coming out from court, Marik told the media that the allegations made by the former IG were baseless and mere cheap gimmick to gain popularity.

On March 4, Marik filed criminal defamation case for Rs 50 lakh against Anadi Sahu for linking him with gangster brothers Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamant. On February 23, former MP Sahu alleged Marik of having close links with the duo gangster brothers and receiving of around Rs 7 crore from them. The SDJM court directed Sahu to appear physically or through an attorney on April 5.
