Dengue claims first victim in Odisha this year

DengueDengue claimed its first victim in Odisha from Keonjhar district. The patient was undergoing treatment at at Barbil Community Health Centre (CHC).

The deceased was identified as Sukramani Sandil, who was admitted to the hospital five days ago after complaints of high fever associated with body pain, fatigue and nausea, but showed no signs of recovery despite treatment by the doctors.

As many as 706 blood samples were tested, out of which 246 tests positive, said Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Kabindra Prasad Sahoo.

Meanwhile, dengue has afflicted in Cuttack City rose to 33. Special arrangements and necessary steps has been taken to tackle the situation, said Prafulla Behera, Chief District Medical Officer, Cuttack,

He also stated, the Health department has taken all the necessary steps to stop the disease from spreading to other localities.
