Dengue Situation deteriorates in Odisha; Cases touch to 481

dengueBhubaneswar, Sep 19: The numbers of dengue affected people have been increasing in Odisha. The number of cases in the state rose to 481 as per the data of the state government. To review the dengue situation in the state, Odisha Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak held a review meeting at Secretariat today.

Many top officials including Health Secretary Arti Ahuja have attended the meeting to take the stock of the killer disease in the state. So far, two people were killed in due to dengue. The Health Minister said that 65 out of 83 affected people were getting admitted to SCB Medical in Cuttack. He added that eight people were in ICU.

Ten districts of the state were affected in dengue and the state government has been providing free treatment to dengue patients at district hospitals across the state. It was reported that Bhadrak was worse affected district with 63 victims in the state. To help the people diagnosed with dengue, the state government has setup a helpline number 0674-2390466 to provide information over the issues.
