Farmer Leader and AAP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Bargarh in 2014 polls, Lingaraj, who had recently quit the party, protesting against Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, has joined the Swaraj Abhiyan launched by expelled leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.
At a press conference on Sunday, Lingaraj confirmed this and said that Swaraj Abhiyan will be strengthened at the national level and all efforts will be made to bring together all like-minded individuals to join the movement.
“Our Swaraj Abhiyan will provide a platform for alternative politics”, he said. He further criticised AAP and Kejriwal for diluting the goals of democratic values and idealistic politics. Lingaraj was the only AAP leader in Odisha with mass support. He has been leading the farmer movement in Western Odisha for over 20 years.
