Infant ‘lifted’ by Monkey in Banki Block, found Dead

ONI Bureau: The 16-day-old baby boy, who was ‘lifted’ by a monkey, was found dead in a well in the backyards of their home. The body has been sent to Banki hospital for post-mortem.

The parents were left devastated as they had some hopes of getting back their baby alive. The newborn was sleeping with his parents outside their house at Talabasta village in Banki block of Cuttack district when a monkey allegedly lifted him.

Fire Tender officials and forest officers along with villagers tried their best to search the baby throughout the day yesterday. While the baby was found dead inside the well, there was no trace of the monkey.
