Kunduli Gangrape Row: Naveen snubs Bishnu Das

Insight Bureau: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has expressed his displeasure with BJD’s Dalit Cell President Bishnu Das, who put the government as well as party leadership in an awkward position recently with his controversial remarks.

Bishnu Das had gone to meet CM Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas. The CM did not respond to his greetings properly and stayed away from him. Later, Naveen was seen saying something to Bishnu and his body language suggested that he gave a piece of his mind to the former Rajya Sabha MP.

After meeting the Kunduli gangrape victim and her family members, Bishnu Das suspected the role of SOG jawans in gangrape, while the victim had alleged involvement of BSF CoBRA jawans. Under fire, Bishnu Das retracted and said his statement was misinterpreted, as he wanted to say BSF, not SOG.

Meanwhile, Bishnu Das clarified that he had come to meet the CM and seek a Crime Branch probe into the heinous gangrape; however, the CM is busy and would meet him later.

It was clearly visible that Naveen was unhappy with Bishnu Das over his flip-flop in Kunduli gangrape case.
