Lawyers boycott Court Proceedings over OAT Abolition

Bhubaneswar, Sep 28: Protesting against the abolition of  Odisha Administrative Tribunal (OAT) or SAT, all 110 Bar Associations of Odisha and 35 government organizations will boycott court proceedings from today.

The members of Odisha State Bar Council have also decided to join the protest and the members of government organisation will wear black badges.

The lawyers of Bhubaneswar SAT Bar Association had staged a massive demonstration on September 15 here opposing the state government’s decision. A delegation of the SAT Bar Association met the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court. And the lawyers of the High Court would also cease the work in the interest of lawyers.
