Mahanadi Issue : Debate begins in Odisha Legislative Assembly

After two days of logjam, monsoon session of Odisha Legislative Assembly is functioning today smoothly.

The debate on the Mahanadi issue has started at the floor of the House of the State Legislative Assembly  on Friday at 11.30 am and will continue for long five hours.

The debate on Mahanadi issue includes water dispute between Odisha and Chhatisgrh as well as the role of the union government in this regard.

The discussion on this issue was scheduled to be held on basis of a motion moved by the State Government Chief Whip yesterday.

The opposition Congress and BJP members have been actively participating  in the discussion.
