Ministers’ Boudh Visit: Odisha Police arrest 15 BJP Leaders

BJPBoudh, Nov 4: Odisha police arrested as many as 15 BJP leaders for protesting against the visit of ministers to Boudh district on Wednesday. The saffron  party workers protested against the visit of the Ministers Debi Prasad Mishra and Pranab Prakas Das to the district.

Similar incidents were reported from Balangir and Ganjam districts yesterday as some opposition party leaders shown black flag to ministers during their visit to drought hit areas in these two districts.

In Balangir, black flags were shown to Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy and road was block in Ganjam during the visit of Sports and Youth Affairs minister Sudam Marandi. Police had arrested four members in the connection in Balangir.

Notably, the BJP and Congress parties have been protesting in the state over the issues – farmers’ suicide and drought situation – in the state demanding state government’s attention towards farmers plights. As per official confirmation of farmers’ suicide in the state, 48 deaths have been reported till date in the state including two farmers’ death on Monday.

The Odisha Human Rights Commission also issued directives to the state government to file action taken report by December 2, considering a petition filed by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee over the farmers’ suicide.
