Odia Kid Jhumpa Mishra’s ‘Treasure of Short Stories’ released in Delhi

ONI BureauDebutant ten years’ old author Anantinee Mishra’s book ‘Treasure of Short Stories’ was released at the Indian International Centre on Sunday.

The book is published under the banner of Invincible Publishers. This was only two days after she received special felicitation at the Delhi Book Fair for her penmanship.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Satyananda Mishra (IAS), the former Chief Information Commissioner and Chairman of the Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX), Suresh Chandra Panda (IAS), former CEO of Prasar Bharati and Special Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Bhagaban Prakash, former Programme Adviser at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the present Senior Advisor at India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) under the Election Commission of India, Shri. Simanchala Dash (IRS), presently Principal Director in Enforcement Directorate,and, Mrs Anita Paul, Former Principal of Apeejay School, Saket.About the Book

‘Treasure of Short Stories’ is an anthology of tales written by the ten year old Anantinee Mishra. She is the only daughter of Suranjit Mishra and Nayantara PadhiPartially inspired by persona experiences, she has given them form infused with the flavour of her imagination and a keen observation of the world around her. Through her intentional and expressible writing, she hopes to invoke certain deep feelings in her readers that can nudge them onward in the direction of becoming better, more self aware, and human beings. The many tales in this anthology deal with the important issues of bullying, standing up for oneself and one’s loved ones, accepting oneself, issues of identity, courage and friendship – all from a ten year old’s perspective. A delightful read for children and young adults alike!

About the Author

Anantinee (Jhumpa) Mishra is ten years of age. She studies in sixth standard in Apeejay School, Saket, in New Delhi. She has an unquenchable thirst for reading. She has already had a number of stories published in reputed children’s magazines. She has many laurels to her credit which demonstrate her academic potential and an incredible passion for literature. She also possesses strong leadership skills and public speaking skills. She has been the Head Girl of the primary wing at her school, Best Human Values award recipient, Star Child of the school, as well as a gold medallist in the English Olympiad. She aspires to become an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) Officer and a renowned novelist.
