Odisha Assembly Monsoon Session begins

Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly started today with the condolence motion moved by the Chief Minister. During the session, in his condolence message Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid tribute to departed leaders – former President Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam,  Ex-Chief Minister J. B. Patnaik, former Ministers Kartik Mohapatra,   Kalpataru Das and Sriballav Panigrahi, former legislators Sarat Paikray and Parsuram Panigrahi. The House was adjourned till Wednesday without doing any business on the day by the speaker after the condolence motion proceedings.

In the begging of the session, the house observed one-minute silence for the departed leaders. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the demise of leaders was a great loss to the nation as well as to the family members of bereaved families.

Narasingh Mishra, Leader of Oppoostiton, Basanta Panda, BJP Legislature Party Leader, also paid tribute to departed leaders during the motion.
