Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: The Odisha Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed day-long ‘Satyagraha’ today in 147 constituencies in the state. In the capital city, the party leaders observed Satyagraha at three places – party office, Kalpana and Damana Square.
State BJP President K V Singhdeo said that party members observed Satyagraha peacefully across the state. He said that our objective was to highlight the welfare schemes and development work done the central government.
He alleged that the BJD government in the state has failed to implement many of its promises made during the elections. Singhdeo said that the ruling BJD government had promised to provide agriculture loan at 1 percent but even after 16 months of forming government did not initiated this scheme. Similarly, the state government failed in providing jobs, health insurance and irrigation facilities, he added.
“The party is highlighting the development works of Narendra Modi-led central government and the failure of the state government,” said Singhdeo. With the chief minister attacking the Centre for alleged the neglect of the state, Singhdeo dared him for a debate on the issue. “We dare the chief minister to join a debate,” said Singhdeo.
