Bhubaneswar, May 23: The per-matriculation students belonging to Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) community will get a hike in their monthly scholarships as per the announcement made by the Odisha government on Friday.
As per the directive issued by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik both hostel boarders and day scholars will get the hike in their monthly scholarships. The scholarships for hostel boarders have been increased to 750 for boys and Rs.800 for girl students studying in classes from 1st to 10th. The scholarship money has been increased to Rs 180 for day scholars
Day scholar students studying in classes from 6th to 8th the scholarship amount has been increased to Rs 180 a month for boys and Rs 240 for girls. The scholarship for students studying in class 8th has been increased to Rs 240 per month for boy day scholars and Rs 300 for girls.
It is noteworthy that the Odisha government has recently increased seats for ST, SC students in educational institutions.
