Odisha Government wakes up to Jaundice Outbreak in Cuttack

Atanu Sabyasachi NayakOdisha Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, who has turned out to be “ineffective” and “inefficient” in dealing with the health related issues in the state, has finally woken up to the rising jaundice menace in Cuttack.

Nuasahi area in Jobra, Cuttack, has recorded over 40 positive cases for jaundice so far. The district administration has formed over 20 squads to raise awareness among the people about the danger of jaundice and preventive measures to counter this menace.

All old water supply pipes are being repaired on war footing. The old and damaged water supply pipes may be replaced with the new ones, if they are beyond repair. The district administration has also opened 24-hour health service camps in the jaundice-hit areas and distributing halogen tablets and ORS packets in the area.
