Odisha launches “Green Passage” Scheme for Orphan Students

Naveen PatnaikThe Odisha government on Tuesday introduced a special scheme “Green Passage” for orphan students. This scheme will function under the higher education department.

According to this scheme, the orphan students will no need to bear pressure of fees towards admission, examination and tuition for pursuing higher education. They will be provided free hostel facilities and food also.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed all government and private universities to implement the plan. According to the sources, 16,382 orphans are currently pursing higher studies in 272 institutions in the State.
