Odisha Minister Damodar Rout goofs up in Press Statement

Odisha Excise minister Dr. Damodar Rout, while seeking to please CM Naveen Patnaik, has terribly goofed up in the press statement released to the media. Dr. Rout tried to blame the BJP and give full credit to CM Naveen Patnaik for the Paradip Oil Refinery project. But, with the erroneous data, his move backfired.

Here are the details of how Dama Babu went wrong:

* Change of Government at the centre in 1995.
— This is wrong, as PVNR continued from 1991 till 1996.

* Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led BJP Government took over in 1995.
— This is wrong. Vajpayee took over only in 1996 for 13 days and then in 1998.
— From 1996 till 1998, Janata Dal-led United Front Government was in power.

* Work of Paradip Oil Refinery progressed only when Naveen Patnaik became the Coal & Mines Minister in 1998. The previous central government did not take any interest.
