Odisha Police suspect Rehman’s links with techies, Odias in Bengaluru

Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: Odisha police has started investigation into the links of arrested suspected Al Qaeda operative Abdul Rehman with some techies and Odias in Bengaluru. Cleric Abdul Rehman was arrested in a join operation carried out by Odisha and Delhi police following intelligence inputs on December 16 from Cuttack.

Police Commissioner R P Sharma told media that the department got some leads about Rehman’s links with persons in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Karnata particularly in Bengaluru with some techies and Odia persons.

As per police, Rehman had said to be in touch with Mohammed Kafeel, a Bengaluru youth who was involved in Glasgow Airport building attack in 2007.

In order to find out the activities of Rehman, Odisha police had sent two teams to Delhi and Jharkhand. Police said Rehaman had links with Asif, another suspected Al Qaeda  operative arrested by Delhi police from Uttar Pradesh. Asif is believed recruiting youth for the terrorist outfit.
