Odisha Private Bus Owners withdraw proposed Strike

private bus ownersBhubaneswar, Nov 30: All Odisha Private Buss Owners Association called off proposed strike after getting assurance from Odisha government on Monday.

Commerce and Transport minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi held discussion with association officer bearers at State Secretariat here today. After the meeting, the office bearers of the association decided to withdraw the proposed strike.

They informed that the state government has agreed to their demands over motor vehicle tax. The state government is likely to discuss about motor vehicle tax, which was hiked by the Odisha cabinet earlier, during the assembly winter session starting from Tuesday.

Talking to media, the Minister said the demands of the association were under consideration of the state government and appropriate action would be taken in that direction.
