Odisha’s 1100 Villages to be electrified by October

The Odisha Government on Thursday decided to provide electricity to 1100 un-electrified villages by end of October.

Talking to the newspersons, the Secretary of Energy Department Rajesh Verma said, after having a discussion with all District Collectors through video conferencing, the Government has taken a decision to provide electricity in all un-electrified villages.

Verma also stated that earlier all these villages were under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) but now these villages have come under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).

The meeting was presided over by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
