Restrictions on Cremation of Bodies Lifted In Puri’s Swargadwar

The authorities, on Monday, announced the restrictions imposed on holding funeral rites at ‘Swargadwar’ has been lifted. Collector Balwant Singh informed the decision stating that the restrictions has been relaxed for people from districts other than Puri.

But the people coming have to follow COVID guidelines. The decision was taken after the state saw a drop in the COVID 19 cases.

“People coming here for funeral of their family need to follow COVID guidelines for their own safety and safety of others. The number of attendees should be limited to 20 people,” Collector Balwant Singh said.

On Monday, fire services personnel carried out sanitisation drive at Swargadwar after the restrictions were lifted.
