Puri, Oct 27: Odisha’s eminent sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik created a sand sculpture to welcome ‘India’s Daughter’ – Geeta, a deaf-mute woman who returned to India after a gap of 10 years from Pakistan.
Accidentally she crossed border and entered into Pakistan when she was 7-8 year old. Since then, she has been living in Pakistan. Geeta was adopted by Karachi-based Edhi Foundation’s Bilquees Edhi. After a gap of 10 years, Geeta returned to India.
Patnaik through his sculpture thanked both Indian and Pakistan governments for the co-operation in bring back to her to India safely. He mentioned flags of two nations with Geeta’s sand sculpture. He welcomed Geeta to India through his art at Puri beach.
