Tax Culture should prevail for Nation’s Development: Dharmendra

Insight Bureau:  Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended the Bhoomi Poojan and Foundation Stone laying ceremony of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) Building at Cuttack on Sunday.

Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra laid the foundation stone for the new building. Union law Minister Rabi Shankar Prasad was also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the laying ceremony, Pradhan said, “Tax is not a burden. Tax culture should be prevailed for the development of the Country. In Odisha, 33% taxes have increased in comparison of the corresponding period of the last year.”

The Minister further stated that tax atrocities played pivotal role in triggering big revolts such as Paika Bidroha and Salt Satyagraha March from Cuttack to Inchudi. For any Government to win the trust of people, creating tax awareness and speedy disposal of tax litigations are must.
