Temperature rises to 46 degrees in Sonepur and Sundargarh

Sunstroke-OdishaThe entire Western Odisha is reeling under intense heatwave conditions, while people in coastal Odisha heaved a sigh of relief, thanks to a drop in daily temperature. Mercury rose to 46 degrees C in Sonepur and Sundargarh on Saturday.

15 others places in Odisha have recorded above 40 degrees C. They included Balasore (41.2), Angul (43.9), Talcher (44.6), Chandbali (40.7), Baripada (42.5), Jharsuguda (44.4), Keonjhar (42), Sambalpur (44), Hirakud (44.6), Bolangir (44.5), Bhawanipatna (45), Phulbani (41.5), Titlagarh (45), Malkangiri (42) and Dhenkanal (43.4).

Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 39.7 and 38.5 degrees C. According to reports, at least 35 people have died of sunstroke so far. But, the government has accepted the truth.
