Tension erupts at OCL Campus during public hearing on expansion of Mining area

ONI Bureau:  Tension prevailed outside the campus of Odisha Cement Ltd (OCL) and Rajgangpur town as the tribals of Sundargarh district barged into the premises of the OCL in Rajgangpur on Wednesday protesting against the ‘Jana Sunani’ public hearing on expansion of mines of the company.

While the tribals demanded for a public hearing in the affected area of Lanjiberna village, the Board decided to conduct a public hearing at Dalmia Private Industrial Training Institute in Jhagarpur.

More than 5000 tribals led by Birmitrapur MLA George Tirkey staged protest in front of OCL after being driven out of the campus by police. They are not allowing any OCL employees and officials into the premises, reportedly.
