Bhubaneswar, Sep 24: In an endeavour to give a face-lift to bus stands in urban areas, the Odisha government put three departments to carry out development work jointly. As per the reports, the Home, Urban Development and Road & Transport departments in the state will develop the bus stands in urban areas.
In the first phase, seven bus stands including Angul, Balangir, Bhawanipatna, Nabarangpur, Phulbani and Raygada will be developed by Transport Department and Urban Development Department. The departments will develop in phase wise following financial constrains. And, these departments will also look after annual upgradation and maintenance of other bus stands in the state.
As per the earlier taken decision, only Home department and Urban department would look after the development bus stands in urban areas except Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri.
Transport Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi told that a detailed project report has been prepared to give facelift to Baramunda Bus Stand in Bhubaneswar and Gopalpur Bus Stand in Cuttack.
