Union Minister Sudarshan Bhagat assesses Odisha Livelihoods Mission

Sudarshan BhagatShri. Sudarshan Bhagat, Hon’ble Minister of State (R.D.), Government of India, reviewed the overall performance and functioning of Odisha Livelihoods Mission, Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Odisha on March, 18,2016 at State guest house at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Shri. P.J. Nath, IAS State Mission Director –cum- CEO, Odisha Livelihoods Mission elucidated on the present status and functioning of the Mission in the state. Sh. P.J. Nath, IAS presented the snapshot of the progress and achievements of the project.

So, Far Odisha livelihoods Mission formed 2.90 Lakh SHGs, 10662 CLFs and 1494 GPLFs in the state. OLM has initiated Non-financial Partnership with 8 agencies and converged with other line departments for the effective inclusion of community in the development agenda and livelihood promotion activities. He also deliberated on the key strategies and future goals of the program. Mission aims to expand to all 30 districts of Odisha with 107 blocks and 343 Gram Panchayats.

Hon’ble Minister took keen interest in the program and offered valuable suggestion to cover as many households as possible through effective strategies. Also, He appreciated the progress achieved and congratulated for the effective work done so far by the mission at the state.
