Harsimrat Kaur Badal Quits Over ‘Anti-Farm’ Bills

In what can be termed as one of first hint of rebellion in the NDA, Union Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal quit her post over ‘anti-farm’ bills.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal represents the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Though she has put down her papers, SAD is unlikely to withdraw its support from the allaince.

The Lok Sabha had earlier passed three bills on farm reforms, which is being opposed by the SAD.

The agrarian sector, which is the core base of the SAD, was unhappy with the bills.
